From zero to exam speed
Built for someone who has never typed Hindi before and has a typing test on the calendar.
- 1.0
Learn the keys, one row at a time.
Nine short lessons. Each one adds a handful of keys and gives you real words that use only what you know so far, plus a few made-up syllables to drill the new ones.
- 2.0
Type real words with the answer showing.
Every word is broken into the exact keys to press, with the next key lit up on the keyboard. On Remington it shows the typewriter order too: ि before the letter, र् after.
- 3.0
Fix the keys that trip you.
Every miss is counted per key. Weak-keys mode builds tests packed with the letters you get wrong most, and Progress shows them on a heat map.
- 4.0
Sit a timed passage, exam style.
Exam mode hides the hints and the keyboard, runs a 5 or 10 minute Hindi or English passage, and scores net speed, accuracy, KDPH and estimated marks.

Always confirm the speed, time and font rules in the official notification for your recruitment. TypingKeeda estimates marks using the RSSB Hindi formula only where that formula has been published.
Four layouts, one engine
TypingKeeda reads the physical keys and types the Hindi itself, so one ordinary keyboard practises every exam layout, English included.
Remington typewriter (DevLys 010 / KrutiDev)
हिंदी = f g a n h
The typewriter layout used in RSSB and Rajasthan High Court typing tests (DevLys 010 / KrutiDev 010). The ◌ि sign is typed before its letter, and the reph (र्) after it.
Key chartInScript (Windows Hindi Traditional)
हिंदी = u f x o r
The government standard Unicode layout, built into Windows as “Hindi Traditional”. Vowel signs on the left hand, consonants on the right.
Key chartMac Devanagari QWERTY (phonetic)
हिंदी = h i M d I
Apple’s phonetic Hindi layout: क on k, म on m. Easy to start with if you already type English.
Key chartEnglish (QWERTY)
Exam passages set in Calibri
Standard QWERTY for the English speed test. Capital letters and punctuation count, exactly as in the exam.
English testQuestions people ask
Do I need to install a Hindi keyboard?
No. TypingKeeda reads which physical key you press and types the Hindi letter itself. Keep your computer on English, pick Remington, InScript or Mac phonetic, and start.
Which layout should I learn for Rajasthan exams?
RSSB LDC and Rajasthan High Court typing tests have been conducted on the Remington (typewriter) layout with DevLys 010 or KrutiDev 010 fonts. Check the notification for your exam; if it says Remington or Kruti/DevLys, practise Remington here.
Is this the same Remington as DevLys 010 and KrutiDev?
Yes. TypingKeeda's Remington layout follows the DevLys 010 chart used in the RSSB exam, which KrutiDev 010 shares. The letters also match Remington GAIL (Mangal), but a few number-row and punctuation keys differ there, such as । on Shift + A. Typing order is the typewriter's: ि before its letter, र् (reph) after the syllable.
Where is my progress saved?
In your browser on this computer (IndexedDB). There is no sign-up and nothing is uploaded. Use Account → Download backup to move your progress to another computer.
How is speed counted?
Net WPM is correct words per minute, the way exam marks are counted. We also show gross speed (keystrokes ÷ 5 per minute), accuracy, and key depressions per hour (KDPH).
Is there an English typing test too?
Yes. RSSB has a separate 10-minute English speed test (about 500 words, 0.05 marks per correct word). Pick RSSB English in exam mode, or choose English in practice. Capital letters and punctuation are checked, as in the exam.
Can I practise on my phone?
You can read the lessons on a phone, but typing tests need a physical keyboard, the same as the exam.
